There is a saying, "Time flies when you are having fun." That must be true, since I am beginning my 30th year of teaching this year! I love children and teaching. I have taught many different areas over the past 29 years: Special Education, Kindergarten and 4th grade. I am very excited to begin a new adventure for 2016-17 in 5th grade. Some opportunities are too good to pass up. I will be teaching Language Arts focusing on Writing skills. I guess you could say writing was my first career. I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, and my first job out of college (a really long time ago) was as a newspaper writer.  This year I will get to merge two things I enjoy - teaching and writing. I know it is going to be a great year!

I am a native Georgian and have lived here my entire life. I attended Cobb County schools for elementary, middle and high school. I currently live in Villa Rica. I have one daughter who is a senior in college in Montgomery, Alabama. My favorite Fall activity is watching football -college and pro. While I love the Atlanta Falcons, I am not much of a Georgia Bulldog fan. My favorite college team is the Auburn Tigers! WAR EAGLE!
